PhilosophyChildren, parents and educators at Browns Bay Pre-School, form a community of learners who all work together in partnership. We establish strong relationships with your child, and your family, by sharing information, which will benefit your child's growth and development. The holistic potential of each child will be encouraged to the fullest. Each child brings to the pre-school unique cultural values and beliefs which will be respected and nurtured. Learning is a life long process, which can be joyful and fun when we investigate, research and explore our world around us in meaningful ways. Therefore we will offer an environment that is interesting, enriching and well resourced. We are responsive to the children's interests and use these to extend their current knowledge in ways that engage them in the learning process. We will provide a programme where children feel safe, develop positive self worth and a sense of community, the ability to communicate effectively with others and a respect for the different ways that other people see the world. Browns Bay Preschool will be a place that will be remembered for the positive and significant contribution the teachers have made to the children, the families, and the ECE community. Our teachers will stand out as leaders and our preschool will be known nationally and internationally as a learning environment of excellence.
Vision Statement
At Browns Bay Preschool we strive to foster an image of teachers as leaders, both in their working environment and in the ECE community. Leadership will be evident in the outcomes for children. Teachers will demonstrate a growing understanding of teaching and learning dispositions, participate in professional learning, share their understandings, challenge their own and colleagues’ thinking, and develop and maintain a personal professional teaching philosophy. Browns Bay Preschool will become increasingly environmentally responsible by using resources more sustainably throughout the centre. Creating inventive ways to be more effective in reusing, reducing and recycling will decrease our footprint as consumers. Browns Bay Preschool will grow as a business by having a robust strategic plan which will increase the profitability of the preschool by maximum optimization of all our resources.
